Ellipsostylus distachyus Blueford, 1982

Description - Add description

Single shell with average diameter 72µm. Outer shell thick (10µm), slightly elongate aling polar axis. Two unequal, bladed, polar spines, lengths 24-72 and 5-20µm. Pores circular, of equal size, 2-4µm in diameter, closely packed, 5-8µm between pore centers.
Distinguishing features:
Small, thick, single shell, slightly elongated, with two unequal polar, bladed spines. Differs from Ellipsostylus salebrosus by its smaller bladed spines and thicker shell and from Druppatractus nanus by its single shell.
