Cadium bullatum Stadum and Ling, 1969

Description - Add description

Shell small, ovoidal or ellipsoidal, with approximately 25-35 longitudinal striae. A smooth closed bubble or blister projects from the mouth of the shell, and a short apical spine is present at the aboral end.
Dimensions: Based on 20 complete specimens: Length of entire shell 48-58M, width of shell 29-34µm.
Remarks: When photomicrographs of these specimens were attempted, difficulty was encountered because of their small size and transparent nature in Canada balsam. This new species can be distinguished easily from all of the previously described species of the genus Cadium by its characteristic closed bubble-shaped projection from which the name of the species is derived.
