Description - Add description
Shell having two opposite similar basally three-bladed, narrow, needlelike polar spines; spherical cortical shell moderately thick-walled, the surface having four or five circular pores across a radius, these pores within subhexagonal areas, from whose nodal points develop small sepaloid points, but as a whole the surface is neat and trim; medullary shell about 0.25-0.40 diameter of cortical shell, with eight to ten subhexagonal pores across a diameter; polar supporting beams thicker than others. Stylosphaera minor differs from megaxyphos in finer, smaller pores, thinner cortical shell and less prominent sepaloid points making the shell smoother. | (Clark and Campbell) 1942 |
